Friday, June 29th, rolled around. Her morning temp read 100.5… her evening temp 99.5… wha oh… Saturday Morning 97.5. It’s about to be “go time!” in 24 hrs give or take. I thought we had until the following morning at least because usually, that’s how our girls roll… usually. I had to drop off some of the kiddos with their Nana, and stop by the grocery store. It was to be a 2 hr trip tops… no big deal, I thought, I’ll have more than enough time. Right? Wrong! I get no more than 35 mins away and I get a text and video clip from Michael (my Husband) of Mamba doing what you see in the first half of the video clip below.
Before I left, there were no signs of labor. No panting, no nesting, no discomfort, no milk, nothing. You see in the first half of this video below the clips he sent me and the reason why I abandoned my errand runs and my plans to finally eat some delicious Taco Salad Michael had prepared before I left, and chill out the rest of the evening keeping an eye on our girl with plans we’d make it to Sunday. I returned home immediately thinking I’d at least have time to grab a quick bite, I hadn’t eaten all day.
No sooner than I walked through the door did this broad start contracting, and what felt like almost immediately you could see a puppy sack starting to bulge out. I didn’t even have time to freshen up and grab a snack before I was back out the door, phoned the vet and rushed up for her c-section. She was trying to actively push out a pup on the ride up to the veterinarian office. I’m so grateful no puppies need to be named highway or freeway because we made it in time THANK GOD!
The result is 4 healthy gorgeous French Bulldog Puppies, 2 of them are blue, 2 of them are chocolate like momma. I’d like to introduce you to Mamba’s first litter of puppies.
